The official company emphasis is on constant improvement, which sounds nice in theory, but what it means is that you're never good enough. You're never allowed to say that you think you've done a good job because you are forced to always find some way in which you failed. It messes with your head and drives you insane. Despite the focus on how desperately disappointing all of us staff are, we're expected to put up with systems and curriculum that are DEFINITELY not good enough, and told that we can't even hope for better. Pay is out of whack -- some too little, some too much. Curriculum is crap. Teachers have to work AGAINST what we're given, not with it, in order to actually teach our students. Ridiculously, performatively "woke," but there's nothing behind it. Instead of celebrating diversity with a special "___-American Heritage Week", just pay us all better.
