Some department heads are really good to the employees and others are not so, it depends who your VP is. Unfortunately my immediate managers had no say in employees pay raise or promotion, because Department VP didn't care about employees at all and didn't allow promotions. There was no path to get promoted or get a raise in salary, even though company grew more than double just in a few years. It if unfortunate, but I am using all that I have learned elsewhere.

Management is worthless looking to can you 24/7 if you end up knowing more than they do. They act as if you're lucky to have a job.
