Pros

- Being in the office twice a week - Getting a salary

Cons

- Poor management (one of the worst I've ever had) - No help or support when you ask for it. Answers are incredibly vague. - Working all hours of the day - there isn't a time you can actually switch off from the role, and that is the baseline expectation. - No growth in the role, or discussion about next steps in your career - Contradicting what they say vs. what they do

Pros

Well-known brand with talented, driven people and exposure to complex, interesting work. The firm attracts smart colleagues and offers strong learning opportunities, especially early on. Processes are generally professional, and the organization values high standards and client service.

Cons

Support functions (Finance, HR, IT, etc.) face more volatility than candidates may expect. In recent years, these teams have experienced limited compensation growth, headcount reductions, and restructuring, even while workloads and expectations increased. Career progression and long-term stability in non-client-facing roles can feel less predictable compared to other parts of the firm.
