Pros

It's a generic consulting firm that deals with old-business industries and old-business ideas. If your goal is to just make money and go to business school, this is a great place to start.

Cons

New ideas are not welcome, senior management does not respond well to feedback, co-workers routinely throw each other under the bus in order to advance themselves. Strap in, follow the rules, kiss up and the money and recommendations will not be a problem.

Pros

Good Consulting company with great operations capibilities. I belive ATK is # 6 or something like that. If you want to learn top notch skills in supply chain, process eningeering, or sourcing then this is a good company for you.

Cons

Not as broad as some of the larger consulting companies. Consulting companies are laying a lot of people off right now. A T K used to be a subsidiary of EDS. During the management buyout, they had to lay a lot of people off. In addition a lot of partners left. I heard that partner attrition was continuing for some time after I left

Pros

Among the world's most respected consulting firms, with an extremely varied set of projects at companies from blue chips to start ups or private equity funds. At A.T. Kearney, the range of projects is probably broader than at direct competitors, from pure strategy to more operational topics, and often encompass both, providing a unique perspective to the client and complete learning experience to consultants. A.T. Kearney is also very active on emerging global issues, such as innovation and sustainability. For example, a Kearney consultant was nominated among the top-25 most influential consultants this year thanks to his work on sustainability. Although among top-10 largest strategy consulting firms, there is still a strong entrepreneurial drive within the company and none of the bureaucratic processes and mindset which can develop in larger firms. The quality work environment is often mentioned as a key strength by consultants.

Cons

Some projects, particularly in operations, can be very long (6-9 months), but generally provide a better work-life balance. The entrepreneurial spirit of the firm can make it seem disorganized some time, or as lacking consistency. Some projects can be demanding, as in all strategy consulting firms.
