Pros

Working from home is a plus but the Pros end there

Cons

The scheduling is not flexible at all, if you need time off for a Dr appointment or any other reason you basically have to take an entire day with out pay. No PTO, no vacation, no sick time. The pay is ridiculously low with no real raises. The bonus structure is impossible to understand. All employees were recently given an .85/hr raise which for the top performers equates to a .15/hr loss since they also did away with the quarterly bonus for top performers at the same time. Too much emphasis on numbers without taking any other factors into consideration. When I first started I was getting 15-25 customer surveys minimum a month and answering 40-50 calls a day in an 8 hour shift. Recently that volume dropped to around 10-12 calls per day with survey numbers declining at a relative ratio. I was a top performer the entire time I have been here (in the top 10%) I finished in the top 10% of all advisors for Q2 of this year and at the same time was "written up" for my performance since my Customer Satisfaction rating had dropped below 90%. This warning meant I had 14 days to correct the issue or I would lose my job. I can only assume that this means 90% of the employees are also in danger of losing their jobs as well since I out performed them and was put on a warning. One week after that warning, I was taken off the schedule with no notice. I asked my supervisor about this and was told he would "look into it" I got no response and was still not scheduled. I am waiting to see if I am scheduled beyond the next two weeks or not. I took this job because my unemployment was running out and even though it pays less than HALF of what I was getting for unemployment, something is better than nothing.

Public company managed like a small family business -- in a bad way

Pros

Lots of services/groups/geographies that generate many types of roles. Great place to hide if you just want a 9-4 job where you can go into cubicle, stay out of trouble, get out.

Cons

VERY political career development culture -- if you are a buddy of an exec, you get promoted and left alone. If not, you watch other less-skilled colleagues get new jobs (and more $$$) despite their lack of intelligence/skill. This is no secret. Epitome of "who you know, not what you know:" Very top-loaded, bureaucratic organization structure that is constantly re-orged in the effort to 'innovate and change', but results don't change.
