IT employees are overworked. The average IT resource works 10 - 16 hours a day and are not fairly compensated. Often leadership provides arbitrary dates for deliverables without consulting IT only for the teams to spend late nights, weekends and holidays to satisfy those mythical deadlines.
The company has a number of instabilities which can be chopped up to working in Tech; however, the leadership in IT has no intention of stabilizing the concerns of their employees. There is no bonuses for teams working long hours. I was informed once that telling a team "thank you" would only occur when the job was done. To make matters worst mgmt was asked to provide 4 - 5 star ratings in site like Glassdoor to outweigh the current negative ratings.
The culture is damaging.
