Pros

There is nothing positive about a claims position with Kemper (Alliance United).

Cons

The workload and minimal pay make this a horrendous place to work. Even with receiving "Exceeds Expectations" in all metrics, for review, the pay raise did not even equal a cost of living increase.

Pros

Kemper itself is a great company. Decent hours. Overtime opportunities. Fun staff. Performance awards and bonuses given. Lots of PTO.

Cons

High turnover. Lower pay scale. Slightly scripted calls. Some great supervisors, but one of them is really annoying and power hungry. Long hold times of 1-4 hours, which leads to upset callers. High expectations that get in the way of great customer service.

Pros

Sometimes you can work from home.

Cons

Alliance was a great company to work for, but once Kemper bought them out it became a very unhealthy work environment. There are unrealistic expectations of workloads and zero opportunity for growth or increase in wages. If you have health insurance there expect your annual income to drop every year as you make the same and the insurance doubles.
