i love public service jobs

Pros

ok health benefits, vacation time and paid time off. Some of the management people are good.

Cons

Tight schedules. No quality lunch breaks-eat in the bus. 1 rude radio personnel. 1 dispatcher who is unable to multitask. Unapproachable scheduling department personnel and expect sarcasm and rudeness. Payroll many times will mess up your pay and vacation hours.

Pros

Great people, great mission. To this day I consider the people I worked with on the railroad to be family. I am proud of what I accomplished during my years there. I was sorry to leave.

Cons

First the French Revolution and now the British Invasion. The foreign owners don't seem to think Americans can do anything. There's no upward mobility unless you used to work for the current Gm in England. Its demoralizing everyone.

They will fire you to save a few dollars. They are outsourcing all call taking jobs to the Philippines.
