Pros

One does not exert physical or mental energy with any job within the corporation; this includes employment on the corporate level. If you are lazy and have no initiative you will be a wonderful fit. Training not needed if you have a GED or fall within the normal cognitive abilities of mankind. Opportunities to work with local organizations to make a positive impact in the community.

Cons

The "culture" is expounded by wolves dressed in dainty sheep skins. Being a small family owned business they have limited resources and allow personal feelings to be involved in business making decisions. Their partnership with Marriott is minimal but does help Corporate fill their pockets with the rewards of selling a substandard service to the unsuspecting consumer. The benefits are typical of a low wage working environment. Simply stated, they are not worth considering if you have a family or are considering one. The HR department is very typical of modern trends allowing them to operate with way too much power. This companies HR is a fine example of servants thinking they are masters. The wages are low and have great potential to lead to a future filled with poverty and socialist government programs for you and your loved ones. They DO NOT promote from within. Leadership is pumping a bull full of laxatives.

Pros

Beautiful hotels. Inspiring atmosphere to work in. A lot of the company's focus is on art. A lot of really cool pieces around the property and if any employee in any department sells a piece to a guest, the employee gets a commission.... That's really cool! There was a great orientation that made it seem like the company's head is in the right place.... Unfortunately there was very little follow-through after orientation day to keep the ideas in action.

Cons

I worked in the restaurant, and as far as the particular hotel I worked in, the management was severely unorganized. They were also angry, stressed, and nearly panicked almost all the time. I only worked there 1 winter and nearly all the management and staff turned over. It is also hard to work with corporate to get much needed things like new signage.... The restaurant was tucked away and therefore proper signage would have been a HUGE help... Corporate did not allow this to happen or even seem to have an interest in fixing the problem. In a resort village at peak season... Occupancy should NOT have been an issue.
