Pros

Easy to drive to from downtown area.

Cons

Kestra is growing and in so doing, is working through what it means to be a bigger company, which means some of charm of working for a smaller company has been lost.

Pros

- 12hrs PTO a month for hourly employees - Ample opportunity for overtime - Comfortable and respectful culture - Recurring events and holiday-themed activities - Leaders readily available - Ample amenities (on-site gym. snacks & coffee, cubicles and Austin office are nice)

Cons

- Required in-office 4 out of 5 days a week; Friday is the ONLY work-from-home day for most departments - Lack of communication between departments and leaders - HR often miscommunicates or offers contradicting info - Can't move or get promoted for at least 1 year MINIMUM (they are pretty strict about this rule) - Unclear expectations communicated for metrics and pay - Account Services dept pay is low for Austin TX living expenses - Training is all over the place. Spent my first 2 weeks doing nothing.

Pros

Helpful peers and colleagues. Clean offices.

Cons

If you’re considering joining this company, take a moment to think it over. The work environment feels more like a modernized sweatshop. They create fear among their employees by constantly monitoring them. The management style is top-down, with little room for meaningful collaboration. Some senior managers are particularly skilled at micromanaging, closely tracking your work. One does not feel empowered to make decisions. Overall, it’s a toxic atmosphere with minimum flexibility.
