Pros

Make your own schedule during the week, drive around to appointments doing your own thing. Good pay if you hit sales goal, expect about 85-90k total your second full year if you can do it.

Cons

Your life is now metrics, you have numbers to hit and they're not easy. Beyond that every number is broken down into sub categories so you can see how well you're achieving said numbers. These then influence everything your managers are going to tell you. I.E.: you need to meet with customers x times per month (30-40) and of those meeting you need a certain amount at the right companies with multiple people at each. It's a good job for a young person, lots of money and job security since they spend about 100k on training you + getting your equipment. Good springboard into better sales jobs down the road.

Pros

This is a great place for fresh graduates to start with because of the good money and lots of training after working hours and on weekends to build-up your product knowledge and skills.

Cons

A very micro-managed company that trace your every move, you need to do a detailed recording after every sales visit or sales call. It is sad to say that they do not trust their employees, the way they managed their employees is like managing their kids. You have to follow every instruction given top-down, no room for negotiation or suggestion, "don't ask and just do it" culture. A place that give you money but no time for you to spend. Totally no work-life balance in this company, should only join them if you do not have any family members and friends because the management will make sure you do not have time for them. If you leave 30mins AFTER your official working hours, your boss will start to penalize you on that. They will exploit you till you burn out and give up. Once they feel that your performance is no longer what they expecting, they will try all ways to make you leave on your own. They adopt a "anti-vacation" policy as well. They do not encourage employees to take year-end vacation, the total number of consecutive vacation days they allow will be 9days INCLUDING Sat, Sun and Public Holiday. Thus, you can forget about having any vacation that is longer than that.

Pros

Keyence has built a well oiled money making machine. 20-30% growth year to year. Products are top notch. Training is excellent and ongoing. The systems in place ensure you will make money for the company if you do your job.

Cons

You are a corporate drone. You will be treated with the same respect if it's your first day or 10th year. You will always be scrutinized. You can always work harder. Keyence's number one core value: the company comes first, always; ensure its lasting survival at whatever cost. You have a baby? Prepare to work more hours. You will have no life. You think you have a life, but you've been brain washed. You will sell the same 40 products your entire time at Keyence, unless you switch divisions. You will go on 6 sales calls a day Tuesday through Thursday. You will be expected to take meticulous notes at every call. Every day. Enter data. Work. Repeat. bonuses are unpredictable and unfair. Constantly changing. You sell double? You don't make double. You hit goal, but sell products not included on the strategy list? Your bonus is meager. Impersonal. Cold. Calculated. You are a number, and you work for a machine. There is no human element. They will exploit you till you have no soul, you get sick and fat and stressed, or you burn out and quit.
