The easy life

Pros

Pay, flexible hours, incredibly smart people to work with. The basis of why this company is amazing to work for you have to understand a bit of the history. HP originally started as an electronic test and measurement; then they got huge and was "the company to work for." Around this time HP spun of Agilent. When Agilent spun off it kept all the amazing benefits HP offered and still does. Well, those benefits carried over to Keysight and they're amazing. The last piece to understand here is that as each spin off happened the company down sized, cutting the bad and keeping the genius. So the people you work with here really are the best of the best. As the generations before us tended to stay with a company for life they all stuck here. Not to mention they have an office in Colorado!

Cons

Uhhh, I work in a cube? But those are disappearing for a variety of options within the next year.

Management Structure and Philosophy Needs Change

Pros

-Smart Employees who are willing to cooperate to get the job done. -Hewlett Packard Legacy of respect for the individual still exists at least within the rank and file workers. - Good work life balance.

Cons

- Compensation and rewards are narrowed to the few rather than distributed widely and equitably (e.g. executive bonuses can be 25% while employee bonuses are less than 3%). - Long history of layoffs (especially in the US) with employees hired back as contractors to avoid having to pay benefits. - Management's answer to slow growth is to reorganize (again and again) rather than to fix the core of the problem.

Pros

I have a job.

Cons

Bad management! The HP Way (moral standards) was the backbone of the company, it no longer exists, causing the company to be weak.
