If someone is suddenly ill or out of office, it's a last minute scramble to find someone. Sometimes, you'll end up working 20 continuous hours without a break to fill a shift gap. At the end of every day, a manager reviews every single one of dozens of hundreds of tickets dealt with during the shift to micromanage and send out emails of what all was done wrong during the shift. The pay was poor at $16/hour for years without any chance of a raise.
