Pros

Fun place, fun summers for the kids, able to take pictures with your phone for their website's private facebook, and to keep contact with parents. Your coworkers were your family, and the bosses too but some of them favored employees. No lesson planning, or DRDP's. You can make the art child-centered. Paid holidays, lots of holiday time off. Able to request days off, but this made it hard for other employees to work because we didn't have a lot of extra staff. The ratios were good. A lot of the employes were there ten years plus.

Cons

Low budget, the owners were millionaires but barely had toys for the kids. Not able to work part-time, so I had to leave because I am in school.

Pros

Loved the kids and the idea behind the center. Lots of good ideas, terrible execution. Very little support from the management. Ratios were all off. I was left in a room with too many kids plenty of times. I was not trained to work here, but they offered no opportunity for professional development or worker training. Overall not the best experience.

Cons

Relationships made with children and co-teachers.

Pros

Only NAYCE accredited center in the area, team player mentality, owners care and are hands-on involved, opportunities to advance

Cons

Start pay is low, but they will reward hardworking employees who put themselves out there and aren't afraid of challenges. Sometimes over-enrollment creates out of ratio scenarios and added stress. Employees can feel unappreciated if they are not a team player and it takes time and patience to find your groove and prove yourself.
