Pros

I worked at Kindercare for 5 years and It was nice to be employed. Health and dental plans were adequate. Coworkers were mostly nice. If you have young children of planned to they have a great program where your day care expenses are reduced the longer you are employed, but only if you use there daycare centers.

Cons

The company is unstable, I had 5 CIOs, 4 Directors and 5 Managers in 5 years. This caused management policies to change frequently. If not for the employees the company would have faulted long ago. Employees basically ignore management and get done what needs to be done. Budgets are essentially non-existent, you do the planning but rarely is money made available. They completely out-sourced there Information Technology department and within a few month found out like all the other companies that it is not a good idea. They still struggle with reinstating there IT department.

A disgraceful company

Pros

It was always a pleasure working with the staff, children and families.

Cons

This company doesn't care about its people, neither their employees nor their families or children. The only concern is money and numbers. This is not a place where children will get the most out of their early years because education, consistentcy and safety is not a concern at this "learning center". The upper management district managers-ceo do not support their center employees and blame all the shortcomings of the center on the center director. They run directors down and overwork the then. Assistant Directors spent the entire day in the classrooms teaching or breaking othe staff. The children and staff are consistently sick because they do not have a cleaning crew in any center nationwide. The expect the center employees to clean the entire center yet there are never labor hours to even get it done. They shuffle the children from room to room to save money and labor and cut employees hours. They don't give manager enough hits to staff centers appropriately and maintain state licensing ratios. When you do adhere to the laws and regulations set forth by the state they harass you and create a hostile and stressful work environment. The only way to make the financial numbers is to break the law... So if you're not willing to compromise your career then you won't keep you center in good standing. The company does not maintain their buildings and never replace anything causing dangerous situations for centers and leave then unable to run. They do not stay up to date with technology or education and never replace materials or toys. It is a very unhappy place to work as a whole and it's very sad.
