Keeping it Real

Pros

Working with Champions and KinderCare has brought along many opportunities to impact children's lives positively. They provide curriculum, activities, and supplies to create a fun environment. The site directors are the glue holding things together.

Cons

The upper management at Champions has not been able to communicate school schedules and starting dates effectively to their staff or the families. I understand that they have to work with Portland Public Schools in order to figure this out but it creates an inconsistency of hours and schedules. It is difficult to get more than 30 hours per week.

We take your thoughts to heart about scheduling and consistency, which we agree is important to a positive work environment. Champions is a before and after school program, which means schedules are split-shift, and hours really depend on enrollment. We try to work with all our people to meet desired hours and schedules. Pros

The children are absolutely amazing and really put a smile on your face daily.

Cons

To start off , the company values the money coming in more than the children or staff members. The facility i worked at was poorly managed and complete chaos from open to close.

Pros

It's been an honor for me to work in such company. The center iam working in has the best director and best staff they all work together to achieve better.They always willing to help out ,they have a good team sprit even though they came from different backgrounds.

Cons

My only thing that I don't like is having me as an assistant teacher even though I applied for a lead teacher and I have my Batchelor degree in psychology and early childhood education and I do have experience throughout my life with teaching ,so I deserve to be hired as a lead teacher .
