Good stepping stone facility

Pros

- experience gained from frequently interacting with vents and trachs - one of the cleanest facilities I’ve worked in - admin is friendly and helpful

Cons

- very demanding due to patient population - facility either understaffed or low census with too many contract workers - fight for pay raises, make sure to negotiate hard before taking job - health benefits aren’t worthwhile

Management needs work

Pros

Loved my job and the staff. The relationship I had with them was by far one of the best in my career. Busy work but if you love this type of work and being in the healthcare industry, then it doesn’t feel like work work if you know what I mean

Cons

CCO and nurse manager need to be replaced. Newest CCO bullied me on the daily and doesn’t know how to be an effective leader. It’s like working for a high school mean girl bully and it’s exhausting in every aspect you can think of. Decided I had enough and began looking for work elsewhere but was fired before I could. No matter how much I did or changed things, it was never enough for the new CCO. Even the nurse manager at the time began treating me differently. It was horrible and really took a toll on me mentally and financially. No work life balance. Was always expected to answer my phone when off the clock and never compensated for it.
