Pros

Depending on the group you work in, you'll be in good company with some stellar software engineers. Reasonable work-life balance (again, depends on the group).

Cons

Leadership leans towards 1950s managerial styles and is unaccepting of the type of thinking that makes a great software/IT organization. Jobs dead-end with no career path in sight. If you want to move up in the organization you're probably better off going somewhere else.
