Pros
Colleagues are wonderful, competent individuals. The work we do is definitely important for the County. Employees have lots of great learning opportunities to help build skills and careers through "Special Duties" where employees can work in another position for a set period of time, but are guaranteed to have their original position saved for them if they have to come back.
Cons
[For some positions] There is SO MUCH work to do and little time and/or resources/staff to do it. So, there is a poor work/life balance for some positions. Management has been saying that they are working to improve the work/life balance for employees, but they are a long way from meeting this goal.
