Pros

When they get rid of you you (which they will) they do it fast

Cons

Working for Kiwa (certainly within the UK) starts off nicely - they make all the right noises, there are promises of great 'family', 'support', 'progression' etc. ...but then reality strikes. Your responsibilities expand (unlike your pay), you get pushed into roles that you never wanted or aren't suited to (in my case running an entire department despite no management experience - and no training provided), you quickly become 'point of contact' for everything (Including customers), you have to lie to protect senior management, cover up corporate decisions that customers won't like, attend endless meetings, get lectured to about your job (even though you may have been hired as an expert at that job and be the only person who knows that job), work extra hours (for no pay or even recognition)...and all of this while still doing your actual job (and woebetide you fall behind). In my case I was 'promoted' from what I was hired to do (won't say what as it could identify me) to be department head which then meant hiring, firing, annual staff appraisals (never received one myself though) and all without any support from management, training or help from the likes of HR. HR in themselves are a complete joke and exist purely to protect the firm rather than staff. Yes they come up with all manner of schemes to encourage this 'family' but haven't got the faintest idea about even the basics. Raise a problem aboiut something like about mental health, disability discrimination, or staff breaking rules (even the law at times) and you can be waiting months for an answer, if you get an answer at all. They take no responsibility whatsoever, gaslight staff, try to make employees responsible for their [HR's] ineptitude and are completely clueless - suicide, bereavement and all manner of real-world issues and they 100% fail to provide any support, guidance or advice. Kiwa make a big deal about 'family' but decent staff are quickly overworked (and leave), useless staff are allowed to meander along dragging everything (and everyone) down, anyone trying to make things better is 'dissuaded', management don't want to know and when things *do* go disastrously wrong or are discovered to be wrong, staff are expected to keep quiet, downplay events, or just outright lie to customers. Promise the earth to get the customer's signature and then who cares if it can be delivered or not. Pay rises never come along, bonuses are 'delayed' (or 'less than we expected') and although *you* are expected to knock yourself out to help them (at one point my department had to work through the Christmas period to solve an issue caused by underinvestment - with not even a thank you) you can expect zero in return.
