Decent pay, not much growth after you've learned all games
Pros
If fully staffed, consistent schedule. Decent starting pay dependent on location - and game raises. If fully staffed, you'll move quickly through the games. The environment can be enjoyable also since you're sitting at live casino card games.
Cons
Some management have unclear and varying degrees of expectations. It's really difficult to know how you should be performing when several different managers have different expectations of what that looks like. In most of my time here, there has been short staffing. Which leads to unwanted overtime. This has been reduced a lot since the pandemic lock downs ended. Have had an operations manager tell me straight up that, "the metrics are the metrics. You can meet them or you can leave" when attempting to have a conversation with him about improving my performance. However, he hijacked the conversation and I got all of 2 sentences in. Some management can be toxic and create hostile environments. The way criticism is delivered at my location could be improved. The format has been: what I did wrong, don't do it again, and if it happens again performance documentation will be pursued. This, intentionally or not, feels like intimidation and not really constructive at all.
