Pros

Great company to have listed on your resume as "used to work there". Kohler business card will get you into just about any customer office.

Cons

Meglomaniac upper management folks and a "good old boy" network. If you don't like or practice "butt kissing" you don't stand a chance here.

Pros

Nothing. It's been a very long time since I was this disengaged at work. Quite honestly I'm shocked the rating is above a 3.

Cons

Communication is poor at best up and down the chain. Beware of the bait and switch if you do take a job here. Your reward for being a top performer is more work, and maybe a pat on the back if you are lucky. The raises are less than generous for top performance or promotions. Most companies publish their pay scales on company intranet sites. Not here, it remains a mystery, so when you are applying internally you have no idea where the role you are interested lands in terms of pay or rank. Fringe benefits are non existent, and diversity stinks. Making a big push to promote the average talent inside the company because the high performers leave after a couple years because they can get the respect and pay elsewhere. Too many directors reporting to directors and vice presidents reporting to vice presidents.

Pros

Beautiful merchandise, great location, and interesting customer base, consisting primarily of designers, decorators, and architects, and their clients in the "one percent".

Cons

Poor work environment. A revolving door, most sales associates leave within six months, due to unfair distribution of accounts. Two people have all the profitable accounts, five other sales people (way too many) fight over the leftovers. A commission against draw system, with impossible to reach commission quotas, coupled with constant pressure to both go out of the showroom to find and open new, profitable accounts, and simultaneously be present in the showroom, in case one of your accounts comes in to purchase. A very stressful cutthroat environment. Everyone, including management and support staff, seem unhappy, or angry, or both.
