One of the "little people," I feel I don't matter

Pros

Stable company, better than average pay for the area, competitive benefits package (if you are full-time)

Cons

As an hourly employee, I feel insignificant. There is a large gap between the salaried workers and the hourly/factory workers. I know I am expendable, and management does not value me or my skills. Instead of working to hold onto good workers, they embrace a revolving door policy which leads to a sub-standard department that provides poor service. I feel looked down upon on a regular basis.

Pros

Good benefits, great people to work with. Employees are like family; they don't always get along, but they get the job done.

Cons

Recent changes in management are not working. Morale is low and employees are under a great deal of stress. Even though they are a family, you cannot trust your little brother to back you up when you need it.

Pros

Gained a lot of great experience in the hospitality industry. Boss was a great guy who understood what it was like working in my position and was very empathetic and down to earth. Coworkers were good people and always willing to lend a hand where needed.

Cons

My shift wasn't ideal and led to me not having much of a social life at the time. Some coworkers were childish and less helpful than others but that's common with most workplaces.
