Pros

Nice community of workers and the work demand isn't bad.

Cons

The management (at my store, at least) is terrible.

Pros

Modern technological implementations with mostly a modernized agile approach.

Cons

Even with modernized tech and processes, the culture at Kroger leaves a lot to be desired. More often than not upper management use techniques to get teams to do their bidding using a series of less-than-desirable practices. I was witnessed to engineering teams being forced to attend 6-7 hours of daily meetings. Likewise, during the next day would be yelled at “why isn’t the work done from yesterday”. I hope that in time, with enough effort, this culture will shift to the better and appreciate the hardworking talent Kroger has. All told, I do believe change has to happen from the top down.
