TAs are mostly high school students

Pros

Interacting with school-agers and understanding their needs.

Cons

Low pay for TAs, and the Franchisee (Owner) charges a lot for the tutitions. Parents also have to grade and return their children's worksheets weekly. They also charge additional for answer keys if you borrow them at home.

Really Depends on the Head of your Center

Pros

These are probably center specific... -Good pay -Good Performance Recognition -Friendly Atmosphere

Cons

-Immense Stress (again, center specific) -No opportunities for advancement. Everything based on age rather than skill. -Favoritism -Two extremes: people hired based solely on appearance, and people based solely on skill. This job requires you to be smart, have common sense AND be personable. One of those (except maybe common sense, which can at least get you out of a fix) just won't cut it.

New management at Kumon is awful

Pros

The company mission and philosophy are great. Unfortunately, senior management don't believe in what the company stands for. It's all a front.

Cons

Lack of communication, respect, and managerial competence for senior leadership. Senior managers often take part in unethical, immoral, and even illegal behavior.
