Pros

New blood in the company is a long overdue welcome. Employees had traditionally been with the company for an entire lifetime, so opinions and practices were often set in stone. It's nice to have new employees coming in and shaking things up a little. New CEO was a huge part of this transition.

Cons

Some individuals in leadership seem to be a bit too afraid to speak up and/or hold grudges against some of those change makers. I believe that will iron itself out eventually, but stand warned--you run the risk of getting on someone's bad side.

Pros

i have been with LMI for a little over a yer and I love it. Since joining the team, I moved in a few different roles and have seen a few different departments. I can say LMI truly cares about their employees, fosters the engagement of everyone who works there, and strives for innovation at every turn. Our Benefits are top notch and LMI has a very generous telecommuting policy which helps foster a quality work life balance. I highly recommend working there.

Cons

The commute to Tysons is never fun.

Pros

Nothing that differentiates LMI from the competition

Cons

They act like any other cutthroat consulting firm while hiding behind the facade of being not-for profit. If you look at their website, they continually stress that being not for profit separates them from the competition, because being not for profit makes them mission-focused. Talk is cheap. LMI management, like the management of every other government consulting firm, is in it for the money, and they will not hesitate to compromise their objectivity if the price is right. Example: Customs and Border Protection. It's been well-documented that building Donald Trump's Wall is a boondoggle that will not solve the immigration problems at the Mexico border. Yet LMI has led the effort to select the best wall designs. Why? Because there's money to be made. Objectivity goes out the window when there's a large dollar RFP to be won. If you'd like to work at a firm with a great elevator pitch that never goes beyond the elevator, LMI is the place for you!
