Pros

From the perspective of a young professional, LMI is not an unwise place to begin your career. The benefits at LMI are very competitive from an industry perspective. Aspirants for an advanced degree have a tuition reimbursement program available. The retirement contribution plan is also outstanding- fresh college grads can start building a retirement nest-egg, even if you are in debt up to your eyeballs. Work/life balance here is also very good with generous leave policies. As a jumping off point into government consulting world, LMI is much less cut-throat than other firms, which makes it very accessible.

Cons

The starting salary for entry level is on the very low end of the industry average, justified by a "stellar" benefits package. In truth, many of the benefits hailed in the package are not geared towards young professionals and those that are, such as tuition reimbursement, have been drastically reduced recently. Since many employees are now off-site, the HQ tends to be a bit deserted with very limited engagement opportunities for those not consistently on-site. Raises and bonuses are also tied to overall company bookings and are based only partially on merit. This can be incredibly frustrating for those looking to move up or increase their salary through hard work, which may I remind you is already low. In addition, promotions, getting exposure and moving in between divisions are also very difficult as the organization has a rather flat corporate structure.

Pros

Folks at LMI have a true belief in what they're doing. LMI is completely dedicated to government consulting. The amount of experience the average LMI employee has is amazing. Nearly anyone could be considered a SME. Employees are treated well and pay is good.

Cons

I was disappointed at the inability to move laterally between groups. LMI, by its name, tends to focus on supply chain/logistics problems. But the supply chain is a broad concept. The organization is divided into many different groups, many of which focus on a different area of the supply chain. I did not observe much transition between groups, allowing people a broader experience in the supply chain.
