Great college campus, wonderful people.

Lack of opportunity, budget cuts prevented any yearly salary increases, no opportunity to move up, management was very slow in making any progress, HR very tightly controlled all salary and employee movement.

Pros

"Great" football team? The campus looks okay?

Cons

LSU is the largest player/employer in the area so if you are forced to live there, I suppose there is no other option. If you have a choice though, DO NOT WORK HERE!! This place is so stuck in the past. From operating systems to the mentality of the employees/management. If you get a job consider yourself stuck in that job/department unless you know someone in the department you want to move to. If not, you are out of luck...no matter how many times you apply for other positions. A majority of the employees are older and have been working for LSU for many, many years. As a result they do not and will not welcome change. Yes, the "good ole' boy" mentality runs rampant here. Whatever salary you accept at the time of hire be prepared to have it for as long as you work at LSU. IF there is any sort of pay increase, it will be minimal. There is an wire of departments only looking out for itself and not willing to work with our assist other departments unless given a specific directive. One star is too generous for this place. If I could have given it no stars, I would have.
