Pros

I work at Sephora in a freestanding store and started as a seasonal worker last year. I was never officially hired as core (as far as I was told) but I still work there currently. As far as the company goes, if I could get into corporate, I would. I can’t rave enough about Sephora and I’m still grateful to even be working there because I enjoy the spirit of the culture and the clients so much. They invest so much in training and you really will learn as much as you want. It’s very easy to become well rounded professionally if you’re willing to take advantage of the training given to you both directly and through experience as far as the training given to your leadership. •The company values are amazing. •“Daily Dose” every shift (product knowledge, brand info, videos on how to better assist clients) •Always something new to talk about, product or brand-wise. •Touch Base every shift (numbers, facts, figures, pep talk)

Cons

•Middlemen DIC’s kinda suck sometimes. They can get on a real power trip over the mic. •Most people backstage tend to have a mini superiority complex if they are in any position of authority. •I don’t think I’ve ever gotten gratis in the 7 months I’ve been there even though it tends to be a selling point. •Certain leaders aren’t leaders at all, they are bullies and I don’t feel like I should have to be the one to point it out. •For me personally, I’ve been there a while and don’t even have a costume.

Pros

Top Lux Brand; Lots of training in sales. If you dedicate your full existence to the brand you can grow and be treated to top destination trainings.

Cons

NO WORK LIFE BALANCE WORK EVERY WEEKEND You could be passed over for every promotion. Most of time you just feel like a number. I have seen people get hired as seasonals and stay seasonal for months some even a year while working 40+ hours with no benefits. Management treats employees like children. Managers get weekends off most employees don’t. No direction on a real career that doesn’t involve SALES. The company only cares about money. Feel like a slave. You have to kiss a lot of butt to grow in this company Lots of favoritism You could come in as a full fledged professional with years of experience in corporate or luxury and you could still be hired as a part-time sales associate with no real direction of advancement. YOU WILL GET BURNT OUT and there will be someone else infatuated with the brand just as u once were to take ur place.
