Pros

We are essential employees. During the pandemic we pivoted all systems to help keep HEB and Whole Foods in business. We donated truckloads to the Food Bank. We helped manufacturers pivot to create safe, healthy grab and go items for the schools. We got food to those that were also essential. And we fed the hungry. We have 1600 employees that showed up to work to do their essential jobs. Top down, we all showed up and were proud to do it. Oh, and we kept the company viable even though all of our restaurants closed. We didn’t have any layoffs at Labatt. Those who wanted to take the months off while everyone else worked hard to keep the company alive are the selfish ones. Of course, they are also the loudest.

Cons

None, still employed and grateful. Proud of the work we did.

Pros

N/A The Purchasing Manager who made it worth it is now at another company.

Cons

No PTO your first year of employment, 5 days PTO your second year. 5 Paid Holidays (example - you will work Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, Black Friday. It is very hard to go home for the holidays due to this.) While top management will boast on why the limited vacation time is good for the company, the same people will arrive late, take 2 hour lunches, and leave by 3 pm. They will always be paid more than you, even when their responsibilities fall onto you & do way more than your job title. This causes uncomfortable rifts between management and everyone else, and attributes to workers getting burnt out and/or not caring. The yearly review and raise structure is not based on performance - it is a pyramid structure according to how long you have been with the company. This also causes employees to care less since there is very little incentive. My advice for anyone considering Labatt for full time employment is to search your options in depth. There are MANY companies who value employees enough to give them proper PTO, as well as matching, or giving you more of a salary.
