Pros

If you need experience in a certain field, here's the place to get it. The work/life balance worked well for me as there were times I needed a couple of hours off to take care of personal business, it was granted. There was no need to stress about leaving 2 hours early if you have to meet with a teacher or the like. The facility is open pretty much 24/7. You can come in on an off-day or after-hours and catch up if necessary.

Cons

Under our old director, overtime hours were allowed continuously because of the understanding that the bottom line is to complete the project work in the shortest amount of time permissible. Under the new director, project work still needs to be completed, but no overtime is allowed, cost reduction process was in play....To my understanding, the cycle has only gotten worse with a lower number of employees doing a number of differing jobs within the same department.
