Pros

The pay and benefits are good. Promotions are steady for the first couple of years. Plenty of overtime is available.

Cons

Work/ life balance is non-existent. Weekend, holiday and late-night work is required. Most of the management does not have lab experience. Many co-workers are only there for a "starter job" and don't care about the job. Don't expect to get anything from their recognition program. That is only for the people that complain about doing their job, not the people that actually go above and beyond. This year, annual merit increases were reduced to under 1%. If you stay in one hourly position for too long (1.5-2 years), you will get "stuck" there. In order to move up to a salary position, you will have to take a pay cut.

Pros

Reasonable benefits package and annual leave allowance, nice people, no micro management, field based option available, approachable senior management, not overly pushy environment

Cons

Lack of personal development opportunites, lack of career progression within the company, although senior management are approachable there is a lot of talk and no action, under pay from market rate, no incentive to do better.

Pros

Interesting work to develop compounds years prior to being available on the market; colleagues are very interesting and rewarding to work with, ample opportunities for people with the talents and motivation to take advantage of them.

Cons

Workload fluctuates and cannot be metered, which makes busy times stressful. Difficult industry to be in right now, so pressures on maintaining the bottom line.
