Pros

BASE PAY: Great overall, 55% of average base pay. Raises keep you right there over time. BENEFITS: Health and Life Insurance program is quite nice WORK-LIFE BALANCE: Just enough vacation to keep you sane. LEADERSHIP: CEX level leadership are quite smart and know where the company needs to go.

Cons

BONUSES & STOCK: Everyone gets profit sharing, but only managers and the top 1% (as determined by managers...so join the good-ol-boys club if you can) get anything other than that. MID-LEVEL MANAGEMENT: A bunch of long-time "good-ol-boys" who sign up for unrealistic deadlines and commitments to make their resumes look good, and then pass those on to you. By the time you fail, they have already moved into the next position in management. LEADERSHIP: CEX level leadership are quite generous in their own bonuses, but pass very little on to you as a normal employee.

Pros

Good benefits. It's almost impossible to get fired once you're on full time.

Cons

The workers at the Tualatin plant are almost 100% unhappy with their management. There is no meaningful training or planning involved in anything that is done on a daily basis, yet things are micro-managed. As a new employee you'll be left to figure it out on your own by pestering your more experienced co-workers. Your only chance of promotion out of manufacturing is to either be dispensable or find another company to work for. Once a department likes you, they won't let you advance beyond that area.

Pros

Great compensation when they are doing well.

Cons

Zero cooperation. Management believes it is the greatest. Training is ...here is your desk and a pencil, you'll figure out the rest. Politics is the only thing. Don't listen to their BS, it is run just like every other semiconductor equipment company: frantic pace, management changes bimonthly, the sky is falling (every other week). Luckily the engineers are working and trying to ignore the BS but unfortunately they are disorganized also: structure and procedure might be somewhere but not in the workplace. Philosopy seems to be to have three times as many engineers to make up for the chaos and cut back on everything else. Like every other semiconductor equipment company the end is near.
