Pros

There are some good people

Cons

Long Long Hours. No real sense of reality on work life balance. No understanding of the current differences between generations and their needs/desires. Senior Staff are paid an enormous amount of money, I mean criminal.... I could go on, but fear I'll run out of space

Pros

Pros -- There are plenty of opportunities to learn at Langan and you have an opportunity to interact with some very sharp colleagues. Langan also seems stays on the cutting edge when it comes to technology.

Cons

Cons -- Langan has a culture of putting profits above all else and not adhering to their core values of integrity and teamwork. Due to the management structure, with each "Stockholder Group" being its own profit-center, the culture can be described as "Every Man for himself". Senior Management encourages this shark-like behavior by "putting some bait and the water and seeing who gets it." This discourages teamwork and sharing. There is absolutely no work-life balance at Langan, at least at the levels below Stockholder. Employees are expected to complete nearly all non-billable work on their own time (including training, proposal writing, networking events, and administrative tasks such as timesheets, and any over-budget items), which ends up equating to 65-70 hour work weeks as de rigueur. Langan has shown that that they are not loyal to their staff -- having 3 or 4 rounds of large layoffs in the last 5 years. However, Senior Management continued to be employed. This has led to an inverted pyramid structure, severely limiting growth opportunities for staff and middle-management.

Pros

Opportunity to work on great projects with high visibility, support from a world-class marketing mindset, ability to learn great soft skills, technical excellence

Cons

Not for everyone - some lower level staff work long hours and may be isolated from the bigger picture until they get more experience.
