Pros
1. You get to work among very smart people. 2. You have the chance to work on very cool projects. 3. Some offices may still have remote open (2 days from home, 3 from office)
Cons
1. The people you work with are very overwhelmed and overworked, burnout level. Asking them questions adds more time to their project and since everytime they help you costs time, they will rush the explanation and add the explanation time to the project you’re working on. 2. You almost have the chance to pick what you’d like to work on and you’ll work on the same project repeatedly and always extra hours as clients change their mind last second and still expect the finished product the same day. 3. The White Plains office in NY started restricting remote work starting with letting know the office manager at least 24 hours in advance if you were going to work remote. Before this, you could let your team know and then the rest of the office through Teams the day of. I was not aware when it became a request at the office since I got remote work rejected even letting the office manager know 24 hours in advance bysomeone who did not work directly with me, who was not in my team and was not the manager of my team either. 4. You get looks for leaving “on time” (an hour after your 5:15 pm). It is hard leaving on time anyway because depending on the project you may be helping out someone in your team and you do not want to be the reason why they couldn’t finish, even if it means staying until 10 pm. almost everyday/night. 5. Everyone keeps talking about the LANGAN way but no one trains you on it. 6. Having your social circle be with the people you work with is extremely encouraged. This way you stay working longer hours. 7. They take more projects than they can handle. 8. Everyone acts like “it is just how things are” and this may weigh greatly on your mental health specially if you have worked in other places previously and you know this is not the way it is.
