Pros

You get to work at home. You learn a lot about different topics such as banking, police procedures and medicine.

Cons

1.Very demanding. You are expected to learn terminology related to medicine, law, finance and administration over night. The training is superficial. You get a big glossary of words that you must inhale in order to be ready for any call. Language line has little interest in really developing your abilities. Many agencies expect you to be certified in an area. Languageline doesn't really certify anyone in a specific area, so their clients think they're getting a certified medical interpreter, but in fact, they got someone who is a product of self-study only. Clients of course do complain and the management goes on these panic compaigns and starts to rigorously monitor everyone. 2. You can earn more money doing almost anything else.

Pros

Flexible because you're working at home, you get to listen to some interesting life scenarios and conversations, good for when you have children to look after

Cons

LLS offers poor compensation and doesn't care much for its employees, there are no benefits, no vacation or health insurance

Pros

Work from home. flexible hours, no need to have a car to get around. no spending on gas and no boss looking over my shoulders.

Cons

I understand that it is a very competitive industry and your prices must be kept low in order to help customers use your services but the pay should be better in order to keep the turn over rate down. There should be a benefit package included in order to show employees that it is worth their while to stay with Languageline Services.
