Pros

The company is in an exciting phase of growth and I feel that everyone is working together towards common goals and excited to see what the future holds. Following a difficult 12-14mths in the economy I feel the Exec team have been transparent and positive about the changes they have implemented and the overall roadmap for the coming year at LaunchDarkly.

Cons

There is a huge amount happening in the business and it can be difficult to find processes and decisions changing quickly and keeping pace with it all. You definitely need to be happy moving at a fast pace and not be married to every process.

Pros

Great spot to learn about a highly technical product and the motion to be successful as an an entry level BDR.

Cons

No clear path to promotion, hiring and promotion freezes for 6 months to a year, then multiple lay-offs.

Pros

Good product, positioned as a leader in the space.

Cons

As a former employee of LaunchDarkly, I feel compelled to share my experience to caution prospective BDR candidates. While the company boasts cutting-edge technology and promising prospects, its leadership culture in the BDR org leaves much to be desired. The glaring issue lies in the top-tier management, particularly in the leadership style of the Sr. Director of Global Business Development and the Director of North American Business Development. Regrettably, they prioritize political maneuvering over mastering essential skills for the role. Their lack of proficiency in sales is evident, yet they invest considerable time and energy in ingratiating themselves with higher-ups. This misplaced focus translates into a toxic work environment where genuine talent and skill are undervalued. As a consequence, direct reports are neglected and left to fend for themselves. It's disheartening to witness "leaders" who disregard the development and well-being of their team in favor of self-serving agendas. If you're considering a BDR role at LaunchDarkly, proceed with caution.
