Pros

I loved working with my clients, my team, and my school. LISD as a whole has amazing, talented, hard-working, committed, and compassionate people. The energy is infectious, and the students are vibrant and engaged. I would definitely recommend working in any department other than the Student and Family Support Team.

Cons

Unfortunately department management didn't like some team members personally and couldn't keep things professional. Several people were targeted for extra scrutiny or given extra work even though their performance was above average. The people who were targeted seemed to be people who didn't agree with management, or people who were going through a rough patch in life. In human services, compassion is absolutely essential, and management really missed the mark. I don't believe we can be compassionate towards our clients if we can't be compassionate towards our teammates.

Pros

It increased a little each year.

Cons

It's low for the number of responsibilities placed upon you.
