THE WORST company I've ever experienced

Pros

The biggest pro will be the day I leave this awful, careless company, which I am working on as we speak.

Cons

I am wondering who writes these positive reviews for Leidos, because the stuff I am witnessing is simply awful. If I could give this place zero or negative stars, I would. The management of this company is simply the worst. I work in a corporate overhead role and this is where the management layers are so bloated with incompetence, it's unreal. Managers continually mistreat employees, outright lie to them about many things including career opportunities, send the competent employees out the door, and every manager I encountered so far amounts to a sleazy backstabber. The executives are hired on the "good ol' boy" club basis. Then I see this article in the Washington Business Journal about the CEO basically lining his pockets while the worker bees get minimal or no raises and continuously decreasing benefits. Search for "This government contracting executive’s pay has jumped 67 percent in four years" and you can read it yourself. Deplorable!

Pros

Co-workers are fun people.

Cons

Management at all levels hogs the earnings. Contracts are underbid, raises this year were 2% at best, yet the Civil division touted a 65 Billion unexpected earnings for the quarter ( along with the tax cuts they are enjoying). We kill ourselves to get consistently high marks from our customers, with nothing to show for it on our end. The award fees are sucked up by the top heavy management good ol' boys.

Pros

Benefits, work-life balance, remote opportunities

Cons

exclusive promotion/hiring practices. it's not what you know, or what you do, that matters, it's who you know. You will not be promoted based on merit. Experienced a Director proclaim on an open conference line that she does not like working with men and will not promote them. Then she hired female only managers for the organization. There was no repercussion for this obvious violation of Equal opportunity law. Interviews are often for show, and it's not a very well kept secret that decisions are made before jobs are posted. If you are getting the exact job you want and have no intention of career advancement Leidos may be a fine company for you. If you are looking for a career to grow and advance, save yourself the frustration and avoid working here.
