Pros

It's good to have as a part-time/summer/second job (they don't hire any associates for full-time), and the customers that come in are fun to work with because the company is so universally known, and you can update them with the new products and compare it with the old and vintage, etc. And the sense of giving back to the community is very good.

Cons

The hours they schedule you for are terrible, they track your sales like hawks (and you don't get commission) and your schedule reflects how much you've been selling. Top producers get more hours, which makes sense but it's a constant rat race. There is no sense of teamwork, everyone is constantly butting heads, stealing sales, etc.

Terrible Place to Work

Pros

You get to wear jeans to work. That's not that big of a deal

Cons

There are so many!!!!! The management never communicates ANYTHING to ANYONE except to tell stylists when sales are low (because with low sales they are unable to get their bonuses). They will hire anyone off the street and never train anyone properly. If you ask for more training you are either laughed at or ignored. The managers talk about each other and the rest of the staff like their incompetent trash no matter how well you're doing. When corporate visits the store and you're not a manager you are ignored like you are there to scrape gum off the floor. When an upward position becomes available hires are brought in from the outside and are usually very very incompetent (these people are not introduced to you so you can work for months with your "new boss" without ever knowing their name. The people who are promoted are grossly unqualified but become a part of the club where everything they do (or don't do) gets a pass and if something goes wrong it's blamed on any and everyone else. If you have a problem that involves HR it's swept under the rug or handle improperly. The managers are bullies who hold grudges when they are wrong and will cut your hours down to nothing when they are mad or embarrassed. The pay for stock is often the same or less than teenage stylists. Raises range from .16-.24. The discount is a mere 30%. The turnover is out of control. Supervisors leave as soon as they're hired and regular employees come and go through a very well oiled revolving door. If you're looking for a place to grow DONT WORK HERE!. Unless you're looking for spare change at the concession stand STAY AWAY! The drama, lack of upward mobility, terrible pay, training, and bullying is not worth the pain. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!
