No upward career path or longterm development plan. The business is always doing well, but they consistently pay employees less than industry standard. Annual raises and bonuses are less than inflation, about 1%/year, so the longer you stay the more you lose. On rare occasion a salary is increased in job postings, and then new employees are paid more than experienced employees in same position.

Mediocrity not punished. A typical large company with lots of overhead, slow software development (at least in areas I have been in)
