Pros

Some of the reasons I enjoy working for Liberty Mutual are the flexibility of the position, the people I work with, and the benefits/perks of the job. Having a flexible schedule is important to me because I have three children that are constantly on the go. I need to have a work life balance that can allow me to be with them when needed and then pivot back into work mode. The team I work with is diverse and skillful. We each bring value to the table, and we can collaborate to accomplish tasks and goals. In addition to those two aspects, the benefits and perks offered are very competitive and was a persuasive force in my job acceptance decision.

Cons

The first months are slow going. You are required to pass state licensing exams for Property/Casualty and Life insurance sections and enter into a 3-month training program in order to offer products from our vast list of carriers. Depending on your ability to learn, this may take a few weeks or a few months. You only have two attempts to pass the exams and become licensed in each field. If you don't succeed, chances are you will be let go. So, the con is just a bit of stress to become licensed. Aside from that initial stress, if you are an organized individual and a communication rockstar, the pros will outweigh the cons.
