      Very strict corporate culture & atmosphere = no fun

      Pros

      Great job just when just out of college or new to Boston area as great to meet friends and co-workers while working at a large company. Also pays fairly well.

      Cons

      The office is very corporate. Have to wear suits everyday. No open toed shoes are allowed. Cubicles and lots of management hierarchy. Lots of "titles" and playing the corporate "game" to get to the top just wasn't for me and probably not for a lot of folks in my generation (20-30 something's). Lots of hours too so very little work/life balance.

      Pros

      Benefits and salary are OK. Co-workers are professional and work together to get the job done. Good general market experience.

      Cons

      Constant re-organization; terrible managers who play favorites and could care less about their insureds/agents. Only interested in meeting pricing goals. Provide laptops only for overtime use - not for worklife balance. Don't plan on retiring from this company if you are over 40.

      - Significant opportunity for career progression - Vast training and development resources - Growing company with a very bright senior & executive management team

      Cons

      - Essentially impossible to get fired unless you significantly violate an HR policy (basically, there's lots of dead weight) - Certain groups significantly outperform others yet are paid similar salaries (partially a function of the aforementioned con)
