Pros

Great Pay Amble Time Off & Flex Time Work From Home Available Benefits on Par For Insurance & Financial Companies

Cons

Not recommended for women in IT. Too much of a boys club with lots of people who have been there 25+ years who resist change and will not accept changes to status quo, even when neccessary. Not very efficient in their work, IT lacks any type of adherence to SDLC processes. QA not respected and bolted on to the end of the process. Very difficult to find people to get your job done and then you have to hound them. Found the overall talent in the IT department lacking. A lot of local talent, not a lot of top notch talent from the big schools or big heavyweights in IT. A lot of "figuring it out" needed by the IT department and not a lot of getting it right the first time due the quality of talent in the entire department. They preach responsibility and inclusion, but I found those to be traits lacking in my team. There is a reason why this company usually prefers to hire from within or college grads. They are usually the one people who find passive agressive tatics palatable. Don't ever expect a fair fight or be able to raise your opinion or idea if it is not your bosses idea. I read in one review before that this is a place where good IT careers go to die, I found that to be a very true statement.

Pros

Defies notion that insurance companies are full of stodgy, boring people. Boston HQ is great. Management is very effective and respectful of employees. Interns were treated very well and rising seniors were invited to attend a fantastic 3 day seminar, where we were put up in a hotel, met with CEO Ted Kelly and other executives, excellent food, entertainment included Duck Tours.

Cons

Day to day work of the internship was a bit tedious, but it was still a good experience because it gave insight into the workings of the company.
