Pros

Good benefits, a great school, and a tremendous opportunity to work with students.

Cons

You are extremely micro-managed to the point where it hinders your work. Middle management acts very inappropriately and, while they say they have an open door policy, the environment is unsafe to speak up against anyone in middle management. Human Resources is never available and unhelpful. The department I worked in was falling apart when I left. We were told that we were treated “too well” and morale was at an all time low.

Pros

Great professional experience in online instruction.

Cons

They treat adjuncts like elementary school teachers. No empathy from management. They continuously make changes to benefit the student (dumb down), at the expense of the professor. Management uses the Bible in order to manipulate staff and forced them into submission. I think the new Provost may be over his head, and is making all these changes in order to show that there's a new sheriff in town.

Three years of my life wasted.

Pros

They have great benefits, which is the only reason I haven't turned in my notice sooner.

Cons

Everything about this place is crud. The management is horrible - there is no communication, ever. HR is even worse. When a complaint is made, they don't do anything about it and the worker is to blame. It seems like no one is on the same page and every department picks and chooses what they want to enforce in "employee handbook" All they care about is making money off of students to build the campus bigger. There aren't any Christian values and honestly, I'm surprised I lasted as long as I did. After three years, I'm going to put my two weeks in tomorrow because I honestly cannot continue to be in such a hostile environment. I don't really have a plan but I would rather live in the uncertainty of where I'm going next, then spend any more time working for this place.
