Comfortable position, poor structure, grim outlook
Pros
Good salary (average for a big company). Good work life balance (40% WFH, flexible hours, family support etc.). Relaxed atmosphere, macromanagement and easy collaboration with colleagues. Interesting projects, and overall product, from an engineering perspective. Recommended for : seniors and people looking for a comfortable and stable routine in spite of career outlook and excitement.
Cons
Catastrophic management (unclear communication, frequent change of R&D plans) and extreme lack of efficiency (even compared with previous big company experiences, delays are the norm here), combined with negative short & long term commercial outlooks (due to both the current economy + a declining attractiveness of the main product) have put the site in an unprecedented thigh spot. Lack of training and follow-up for younger engineers, a general decline in motivation and a dormant work structure encouraging to do the bare minimum. Not recommended for : career starters, high achievers, and perhaps generally, junior profiles.
