Pros

The company highly values input and innovation. It is a very collaborative environment. You have a big say in where you want your career to go and there are a lot of opportunities to move up. Innovation has allowed company to gain a lot of traction recently and the growth should continue over the next 5+ years.

Cons

Hours can be long because clients are typically in litigation and working long hours. Staffing levels could be improved to alleviate some of the load on key personnel. Benefits are only average.

Pros

I am a relatively new hire to Lighthouse - in the past 6 months. Coming into the company I did not really know what to expect, but after the interview process, was very excited at the prospect of working with some of the folks who I interviewed with. After being here for the time that I have, I can safely say that I love coming to work each day. Working here has given me the opportunity to work on large, important eDiscovery cases - something that was sorely lacking in my previous job. During the interview process, someone told me that Lighthouse is a company that has a lot of smart people working on complex issues as a collaborative team. It is very true. The work is not easy, at all, but the challenge and opportunity to work on some of the issues that I do with the people that I have is well worth the hard work and time put in. Lighthouse very much has an entreprenaurial spirit associated with it - they love to hear about new ideas and ways to innovate. If you have ever worked at a large law firm (or any law firm) or large vendor, you know that new ideas are not always welcomed. Lighthouse is not like that, so be prepared to learn but also be prepared to innovate, teach and leave your comfort zone. Lastly - the work environment is awesome. Ping Pong table, snacks, drinks all at your disposal. It is great not needing to leave the office just to get a quick pick-me-up.

Cons

No job is perfect. Due to the nature of the industry, eDiscovery ebbs and flows in terms of client demands. If you are looking for a 9-5 job, I'd say you are looking at the wrong industry - not just the wrong company. Like I said above, I work hard each day - some days are longer than others, sometimes you need to work a weekend. To me, though, the payoff is worth it. Not everyone would agree. For the industry, the work/life balance seems very very reasonable thus far.

Pros

Immediate co-workers and peers are very talented individuals with a lot of potential. The organisation has the potential to perform, but sadly does not.

Cons

Recent reorganisations and redundancies destroyed the organisation, particularly within EMEA - internally and externally. Over recruitment and decline in the economy warranted a smaller workforce, but the leadership team seemingly didn't assess the impact to the already vulnerable business. Ill thought out redundancies, and no forward vision eroded trust, community and more importantly recurring revenue. Customers hesitate to partner due to repeated loss of key team members. Six months on from the reorg and heads are still in the sand. There is a culture of reward being 'keeping your job' as oppose to investing in people and recognising talent. Work-life balance is challenging, with benefits/compensation uncompetitive (you don't even get sick leave here!). Stack-ranking for performance reviews always means someone has to take one for the team each year. Zero opportunity for career development, or personal development. As a US business you can expect D&I to extend to the US only.... bit like the World Series.
