Pros

Strong Commission Structure (when you can actually finalize your referrals) Helping patients live healthier lives Fantastic training program facilitated by 3rd party company

Cons

Awful mileage reimbursement, excruciatingly slow expense reimbursement, unrealistic and unfair expectations with regards to operational performance (SLRs are expected to meet a goal for sales calls but are also expected to basically run the center and hold everyone else's hand), upper management is trigger-happy when letting people go (I saw them fire all our service reps without warning or just cause), commissions are nearly impossible to get at times because you must rely on a CSR making $9/hour to actually care enough to get the paperwork in properly and on time, salaried reps are made to work extended hours (long nights, weekends, early mornings) FOR FREE when hourly employees are paid overtime, terrible base salary.

Pros

If you are looking to break into medical sales they can provide you with the experience you need to move on. 10 paid holidays. Coworkers IN my center were very friendly. I worked for Lincare for 1 year and got out as fast as I could. As long as you utilize your contacts in the field, moving should not be an issue (if you're good). I was able to gain experience and move into device making 3 times what I could ever dream of at Lincare. Lincare provides the training for sales reps to become successful, it is your job to implement them. Treat your territory like it is your own business and you will be successful in Lincare's eyes. Despite what you read on here, the gas reimbursement is good, as long as you get good mileage and manage your territory efficiently. I profited about $200 in mileage/ auto reimbursements each month. Lunches are paid for by the company - but getting reimbursed takes about a month.

Cons

Poor compensation. Poor management - even if your center is growing, regional management will not provide you with the equipment needed to satisfy patients/ docs. Benefits are mediocre at best. HIGH stress environment. MDINR is a failure!! Where to start'?!?! Sales reps have a base salary of $24k. Commissions average about $75 per referral. You do the math! Unless you have an established territory coming in, it is TOUGH to make any real money. I am single with no kids and have a hard time getting by, and I was "employee of the year" in my area due to my success. Management is the one making all the serious cash. Area managers make about $120k and regional managers make about $400k. Majority of the company is uneducated. Most center managers are ex drivers who have been with the company a long time. Any educated people quickly leave because compensation is so bad. My poor CSR had NO formal training. Everything she was taught was on the fly. She worked about 75 hours per week just trying to get caught up on everything I was bringing in. Despite our growth, management would not hire another CSR to help her out. Upper management sets unrealistic goals for every member of the center staff. The CEO recently moved MDINR priority above oxygen...... This is a respiratory company, right? ACCEPT IT'S A FAILURE AND MOVE ON. Docs don't like this service and no matter how much you push them they won't budge. Unless you are willing to go outside your Individual "job requirements" and help out other staff members, having a functional center is tough. this environment is very stressful and it takes the right person to cope with it. I could write a book about problems with this company. I do however, thank them for giving me the opportunity to learn the industry and some skills to progress in my career.

Pros

Ability to re-locate across the nation, strong company with plenty of room for advancement if your the right prototype. Decent pay and benefits, lots of tools to grab from with regard to servicing patients.

Cons

Very poor training and even worse treatement of employees. Too be honest if the company gave a rats *** about there employees they would be un-stoppable. At the end of the day the people are the asset and for some reason this company cant seem to grasp that. My peers have been working here for many years and their regular advice to me is get out! That says something...
