Pros

Good exposure inside the company, will be assigned with lots of responsibilities once you prove that you are hard working.

Cons

Salary is still low when compared to the standards in the industry. Also, appraisals and promotions are not up to the mark. Sometimes life will be so overloaded with work.

Pros

Worked with some great, friendly people. Learned a lot in a pressurised environment. Staff and line managers are the only things keeping the place going.

Cons

Almost a pathological level of meanness towards staff in terms of pay. Expecting staff to start on a lousy salary is one thing, but expecting them to stay on that lousy salary forever is another. Management's only answer to every problem is to cut costs, let good staff go, contracts not renewed as they stumble from one crisis to another. Then when they do win some new business they no longer have the staff to do the work.
