Pros

Good mission for the company, C-suite truly believed in helping customers. The other departments (besides Engineering) seemed to be doing great, I enjoyed interacting with people outside engineering and they seemed to be doing well. Good compensation and benefits. Peers were kind people and I enjoyed working with them.

Cons

It's always a tough transition when an engineering department grows rapidly. Unfortunately, although at a surface level it might not have been noticeable, in this case things didn't go well. (Many of the most talented engineers left the company out of dissapointment.) Timelines became difficult, I wasn't given sufficient time to coach/assist teammates, and engineer's voices weren't heard. Some managers were negative influences; one had a combative style along with a documented tendency to unfairly lash out at those who disagreed. The environment that used to be supporting and positive eroded away.

Pros

The other people on the team, not including leadership.

Cons

It's depressing, as the other reviewers have stated this department doesn't live up to the values the company preaches. In the beginning it truly felt like this would be a career job where I foresaw myself growing. Now up to present date, all I can think about is getting out of this place. We're the face of the company but we're treated so terribly. There's so much mental abuse that my mind can not fully rest. Within the last few months, I've not gone a single day without stressing about work. As I am typing this now all I feel is dread for the coming week. Unlimited PTO doesn't exist, we get at maximum 14 days out of the year. Management isn't on your side, in fact, there's not a single person in leadership who's on your side. When you speak up, you're shut down immediately and gaslit into thinking you're in the wrong. The pay we receive isn't adequate, the starting range is $20-25 dollars and even that isn't enough to put up with the abuse we face on the daily from account holders and management. As of recent, my mental health has gone extremely down hill because I'm unhappy and I don't have the luxury of leaving because of the job market so I'm forced to suffer. We're only one written up before they toss us aside, no matter how senior you are in your position. It makes us feel replaceable, and when they send out those mass emails or in our weekly meetings of how thankful they are of us; it sounds so cookie cutter. Morale in this department is at an all time low, everyone is tired of being looked down upon. I use to look forward to my weekends being over so I could get back to work. Now all I feel is emptiness and sorrow knowing as Monday approaches, I'll be subjected to more cruelty and unfair treatment. If you're wanting happiness, look elsewhere. I can't speak for the entirety of Lively, but this department is the definition of hades. They'll be kind, and treat you with fairness only to shut you down without warning. I've witnessed so many MSAs crying from the verbal abuse they receive from leadership. It's hilarious to think about when we asked to have a day to speak with leadership about how we feel, and what should be improved. We were denied because management didn't want to feel attacked. It's hypocrisy because we're subjected to being treated terribly daily and we're forced to take it. Including there's also no option to move up in this position, there's only MSAs, then Sr. MSAs, nothing else. There's opportunities to move to other departments but leadership will find any reason to mark you as failing to keep you from leaving until you quit. In short, in this department don't expect happiness, everyone who's been fired or quit has expressed happiness knowing they're free.

Pros

So I've worked for a lot of companies when I was let go from a very popular hotel chain in 2020. I did a heck of a lot of soul-searching and applied for over 1,500 jobs between 2020 and 2021 and when I got a call from Lively, I honestly didn't know what I was getting myself into. I had applied, didn't do a done of research and it was just mixed in with the other 5-10 interviews I was doing on a weekly basis. As soon as the interviews started to progress and I talked to the hiring manager and then went through the 3 hour panel interview, I was hooked. These people are different. This company is different. Included in the panel interview was the co-founder - I've never had a founder of anything be involved in the interview process to make sure it is a fit. This company is thriving, it is inventive, it is unique and I can tell you, the people really care. When I got my offer, I was thrilled, over the moon excited and I couldn't have been happier when I started to work here. My first day, first week was amazing, my boss is empathetic and hard-working as well as inspiring. Everyone I've interacted with is awesome. Perks? Unlimited PTO - encouraged to take at least 2 - 3 threes off, that comes directly from the founders of the company Transparency - that's been a huge issue with other companies in the past for me and this company? It's truly amazing, the CEO hops on calls and reports out pretty much monthly. Benefits - Incredible benefits including freedom, people are not micromanaged here but are in charge of how successful they are Lively has a bright, bright future and I couldn't be happier to be here!

Cons

No 401k matching however, that will eventually come, I have hope!
